You can book tickets in advance, or buy them on the door on the day.
All paid tickets are valid for all public Weekend Open Days until 31 December 2026 and permit unlimited visits by the original ticket holder on production of the original ticket.

Location: Gunpowder Mills, Beaulieu Drive, Waltham Abbey, Essex, EN9 1JY. Entrance at top north end of Beaulieu Drive.
Pedestrian: The site is a 10 minute walk west from Waltham Abbey Town Centre.
By Rail: Trains to Waltham Cross and Theobalds Grove, connecting London Liverpool Street, Stratford or Tottenham Hale underground (Victoria Line) to/from Cheshunt / Broxbourne / Hertford East. We are a 25 minute walk east from Waltham Cross station. You can take a bus from outside the station. Turn right out of the station, go under the road bridge, up the stairs, turn left and you will see the bus stop just ahead.
By Underground: Loughton station (central line) - Bus 66 towards Debden.
By Bus: Nearest bus stop is Highbridge Street Roundabout which is served by the following local buses: 14, 22, 22C, 66, 66A, 86, 211, 212, 251
By Cab: less than £10 from Waltham Cross station.
By Road: from J25 of M25 go to Waltham Cross and then A121 to Waltham Abbey; or from J26 of M25, take A121, taking care to get into the right-hand lane when approaching the traffic junction at Meridian Way, and continue straight ahead into Beaulieu Drive.
Accessibility: Gunpowder Mills is accessible to wheelchairs and buggies with level access/slopes to most buildings and accessible toilets. We have a specially adapted railway carriage and a ramp onto the tractor trailer ride. There is a lift to the theatre, which has an induction loop. Contact us about borrowing a wheelchair during your visit and accessible parking.
Children: Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult or guardian at all times.
Dogs: Assistance dogs are welcome but currently other pets need to stay at home.
