Accessibility
Our site is fully wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are permitted everywhere on the visitor part of the site. The only area wheelchairs are not suitable for use is on our walking tours, which cross uneven ground in the woods.
We have a lift that provides step free access in th exhibition from ground level to the theatre.
You can borrow sensory backpacks for free at the front desk to make your visit more comfortable and enjoyable. These have been specially designed for autistic, neurodivergent and learning-disabled visitors of all ages, as well as visitors with anxiety.
Young visitors can refer to our easy-to-read Look and See guide to know what to expect when they visit the museum. Visitors with anxiety and autism might also find this guide useful.
Visually Impaired visitors can borrow a magnifying glass at front desk. We also have large print labels for the main gallery to ensure all visitors can comfortably read exhibition text.
We offer a free ticket for carers who are accompanying paying visitors.
