School Workshops

Bring your students for a day out immersed in nature, science and history! We offer full-day or half-day trips and every topic brings life to your curriculum with costumed characters, hands-on activities, interactive displays and more.

Our Workshops

Victorian Life (KS1/2)

Full-day: Learn what life was like in Victorian Britain and explore how changes to work, technology, leisure and transport shaped the world we live in today.

The Home Front (KS1/2)

Full-day: Learn what life was like in Victorian Britain and explore how changes to work, technology, leisure and transport shaped the world we live in today.

Rocket Science (KS2/3)

Full-day: Experience an interactive science show, explore our Rocket Vault and discover how to make your own air-powder rockets.

Homes & Habitats (KS1/2)

Half-day: Discover the wonderful wildlife, woodlands and waterways of the Royal Gunpowder Mills site.

Air-powered Rockets (KS1/2/3)

Half-day: Make and launch your own air-powered rocket, devise a fair tests, gather data and report findings.

First World War Factory Workers (KS3)

Discover what life was like foe women working in the World War One gunpowder factories

  • Workshops last 90 minutes and must be booked in advance.

    Workshops are available to book Tuesday to Friday, 10.30am - 12.00pm; 12.30pm - 2pm (subject to availability) during term time.

    Our classroom can comfortably seat up to 30 students.

  • We charge £120 per 90-minute workshop.

    Schools in the boroughs of Camden & Westminster are eligible for a 15% discount. Please enquire when booking.

  • How do I get here?

    We are less than half a mile away from Oxford Circus (Central, Victoria and Bakerloo Line) or Goodge Street (Northern Line).

    What time should we arrive?

    Schools should arrive 15 minutes before the workshop starting time.

    Can we have lunch at the museum after our session?

    You are welcome to eat in the classroom provided you leave the space clean and tidy.
